French high schools value added

The value added of a high school is an indicator proposed by the Ministry of National Education and Youth to identify whether it performed better, the same or worse than the French average given the profile of students who entered 10th grade, taking into account:

  • social origin
  • age of entry into 10th grade
  • average on written middle school exam
  • gender

Three indicators are evaluated:

  • Baccalaureate access rate: out of 100 students who entered 10th grade in this high school, how many graduated with the baccalaureate
  • Success rate: out of 100 students who took the baccalaureate exam, how many obtained it
  • Honors rate: out of 100 students who obtained the baccalaureate, how many got honors

From these 3 indicators, we can calculate for each high school the rate of students who entered 10th grade obtaining the baccalaureate with honors.

The marker color indicates the "overall" value added of the high school: whether it performed better or worse than an average high school given the profile of students who entered 10th grade. The number in the marker corresponds to the rate of students who entered 10th grade obtaining the baccalaureate with honors.

It is possible to select "Public" / "Private under contract" establishments via the layers in the top right.
